Although Noah may be the world's best known boat builder, Owen Sound has been home to several high quality craftsmen of its own.

Owen Sound's large boat building companies--Owen Sound Dry Dock and Ship Building, Polson Iron Works and Russel Brothers Limited--made the city a key player in the boat building community. It was the smaller builders, however, that kept the craft and the tradition alive.
